It makes a lot of sense. People are generally concerned that they will not have a big enough unit to heat or cool their home or office. So, they fall into the other ditch and get one that’s too big. And why would a contractor have an issue with selling a bigger unit? It just means more money in their pocket.

The truth is that there are many factors to be evaluated when determining the heating and cooling needs of a home or office building.

Pacific Heating & Cooling created the Perfect Fit™ to properly score how a building ranks along these key factors. We use the Manual J (load calculation) and Manual D (duct calculation) as published by the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) plus our own proprietary analysis to arrive at the building’s rank. We guarantee that the fit will be perfect.

Key areas for HVAC system analysis include:

  • Building measurements (floor space, walls, ceilings, etc.)
  • Type and size of windows, doors, etc.
  • “R Value” of building’s insulation, windows and building materials
  • Air leakage
  • Ductwork
  • Number of people in the building
  • Building orientation
  • Shade, overhangs and other outside, environmental influences
  • Moisture and humidity

There are several others, but this shows you that much must be considered to insure that the units heat and cool the building properly. The result is that your unit(s) will be sized properly, last longer, require less maintenance and provide consistent heat and cooling to all areas of the building.
